This scheme of work will be using the iMacs in Music1. You will learn about composition techniques, and how to use Logic Pro X by programming in Pachelbel's Canon in D and then editing it.

1. First you need to download the START FILE (click the words to download)
2. Next you need to click on your downloads (these should be next to your trash at the bottom of the screen and show what looks like a blank piece of paper)
3. Then click on the zip named AGIBStartFile.logicx.
4. You'll now see in it's place, a black icon with a silver circle and the word 'PROJECT'. Click on this to open it.
5. Once the file is opened, please play the file (triangle button to the left of the black display on the control bar) to make sure your sound is working.

Now you will need to watch the board so that you can see (and understand) how to delete a part, then re-record it back in. The part you will be doing this to is the bass line which can be seen below. The notes are all MINIMS (line going up or down with a circle) which are two beats each.
Next you will need to record in two HARMONY lines. These are below for you information.
Now it's time to add the melody! You'll notice that the notes are different, that's because the bass line and harmonies are all played as MINIMS, but the melody is played as CROTCHETS (1 beat each).
